Achieving Balance
During The Holiday Season
The Holiday Season and can
be challenging with the "hustle and bustle" of work and personal
activities. Often we talk about “achieving balance in our lives”.
The truth is ‘life balance’ is not a destination. Rather,
it’s a process that starts with identifying what is most important
to us; bringing more of that into our lives; then recalibrating as life
changes occur. To be really intentional about this requires focus and
perspective.
Here are some principles to help guide you into the Holiday Season and
the New Year:
LIFE BALANCE ... GUIDING PRINCIPLES
1. For everything you say ‘yes’ to; say ‘no’
to something else
2. Have in your life only those things/persons you are willing to take
really good care of.
3. Eliminate one ‘something’ from your life weekly.
4. Always consider major decisions/choices from three different perspectives.
5. Compare yourself only to yourself.
6. Stop doing what you know is bad for you. Start doing what nourishes
you.
7. Resolve to stop ‘over-promising’.
8. Be real. Be human.
9. Recognize and tell the truth.
10. Be a good steward of your God-given gifts. Create an environment
where they can flourish.
11. Know your core values: Honor them in all aspects of your life.
12. Create a vision for your life. Articulate it regularly. Let it inspire
you.
Have a Safe and Happy Holiday Season!
